It is time to think Sun!
Air temperature 29 - 30 Degrees .... Celsius! Water Temperature 26
- 28 degrees .... Celsius! You are the only divers at the site! Easy
entry and exit on your own schedule!
And it won't interfere with your summer diving in Canada.
Sound pretty good? Join me in Bonaire, November 27 for one or two weeks!
Thank you for your feedback in responding to my last emails. I have
tried to include as many of your recommendations as possible.
When? November 27 for one or two weeks. It is after US thanksgiving
and before the Christmas rush. The boats and hotels offer better pricing,
weather is great, and it is usually a quiet time on the island.
Where? Bonaire, Netherland Antilles is a small island (8mi by 20miles)
off the coast of Venezuela. The beauty of Bonaire is that the weather
is always good. I have visited the island many many times. It is safe,
with an unhurried lifestyle and the diving is spectacular. The island
is open for diving 24 hours a day. Of course for those of us that remember
Sharon and Kim in Palau that may mean we will never see them!
Where will we stay? The main town is on the coast, near the airport,
and the hotels are located both North and South of the town. The hotels
to the north are slightly more luxurious, but it is not quite as easy
to get around. So, I have selected the DIVI resort which is just south
of the town. It is 10 minutes walk to town and there is a grocery store
5 minutes from the hotel. The rooms all have two double beds, a couch
and kitchenette. The dive shop, swimming pool and dock to enter the
water is about 50 steps from your room. The hotel offers a breakfast
plan and the restaurant is quaint and is located just above the shore
where we dive. For those that wish to dine in their room, the grocery
store is very close and at 1800 daily we can sit at the dock watching
the sun drop below the horizon.
What about the diving? It is world renown for the reef life. You won't
see sharks, but turtles, eels, rays and the smaller life are common.
A really bad day of visibility is 50 - 60 ft. I have arranged a package
with boat diving and unlimited shore diving. That means we can dive
two boat dives, dive off the dock which is about 5 steps from the rooms,
or we can rent trucks ( split 4 ways the cost is very minimal) and dive
along the shore.... or any combination of all three. There is an interesting
anchor dive, a wreck location but mostly it is reef and wall diving.
What else is there to do? The resort is on two small sandy beaches
with two docks and a beach for entry to the water. Snorkeling is a day
and night time activity. There is also kayaking, windsurfing, biking
and hiking. There is a very small casino on site for those interested.
There are two pools and a "cool hot" tub in front of the rooms.
To the north there is a day long tour of the national park which can
also include diving on the more remote north shore.
Single, Doubles or Triples? As with our trip to Palau and Truk I will
do all possible to match singles into double or triple rooms. For families
please contact me directly for pricing.
It would be great to have you join Joni and I. Do you have any questions?
How to make arrangements? Please give me a call ( 250 507 4992) or contact
Squba Holidays (1800 265 3447) and ask for Mike.
Please send this email anyone you think maybe interested.
Attached is the flyer indicating prices from both East and West coast
of Canada.
